Don’t ya hate it when a TV show doesn’t know when to quit?

What started out as a novel, somewhat sleeper HBO TV mockumentary series has now become an expired ironic parody of itself. I am of course referring to  Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, which until recently, I had been a huge fan of–when it was still funny, cranky, and most importantly, cringe-worthy, due to the hilarious writing/characters’ antics, not because it’s still on the air/producing more seasons.

Larry David and HBO announced last week that the show would be returning for its seventh season, and guess what!–there will be a Seinfeld reunion.

Am I the only one who thinks that ship has sailed? The show ran from 1990-1998, so if there was a reunion to be had, maybe last year, pegged to the 10th anniversary since it ended?  Not to mention, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jerry Seinfeld and Jason Alexander have already appeared on the series–AND they all have/will end up on each other’s respective current/canceled series too.  So, yeah, we get it, the legacy of Seinfeld must and will live on…and on, and on, thanks to the 200 hours of weekly syndication.

Anyway, I think Curb needs to be curbed.  It’s only a matter of time before the writers really get desperate and send Larry, Cheryl, Jeff and Susie to jail.
